Application Information 2026-27:

The following information is regarding the application, interview, and selection process, along with all other additional information that you may need to know as an applicant. 

Applications will open on Monday June 15, 2026 @ 12:00 PM.

• Applications will go live on our social media pages (Instagram & Facebook) with links in our bio's. 

• Applications will be available by emailing connect@cavunity.org and a copy will be sent directly to your inbox.  

• Onsite applications at any CavUnity pop up recruitment event/booth, continue to check our social media pages (Instagram & Facebook) for more information on dates, times, and locations. 

Who can Apply: Students in grades 7-12 all across Nova Scotia are eligible to apply. As part of our 2026-27 expansion we are piloting a University & College Cohort in CavUnity District's 1-5 (Central Region). CavUnity operates across Nova Scotia covering all regions, counties, and communities, please review the list of all 22 CavUnity districts below:

• District #1 (Central Region): Eastern Communities (Preston Township, Chezzetcook, Musquodoboit Harbour, Eastern Shore, Porters Lake, and surrounding communities).

• District #2 (Central Region): Dartmouth Region (Cole Harbour, Dartmouth, Eastern Passage, and surrounding communities).

• District #3 (Central Region): Metro/Central (Halifax peninsula and surrounding communities).

• District #4 (Central Region): Bedford & St. Margret's (Bedford, St. Margret's, and surrounding communities). 

• District #5 (Central Region): Sackville (Lower and Middle Sackville, Beaver Bank, Fall River, and surrounding communities). 

• District #6 (Southern Region): Lunenburg County (Bridgewater, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, and surrounding areas)

• District #7 (Southern Region): Queens County (Liverpool, Caledonia, Greenfield, and surrounding areas)

• District #8 (Southern Region): Shelburne County (Barrington, Shelburne, Lockeport, and surrounding areas)

• District #9 (Southern Region): Yarmouth County (Argyle, Yarmouth, Hebron, and surrounding areas) 

• District #10 (Valley Region): Digby County (Weymouth, Digby, Clare, and surrounding areas)

• District #11 (Valley Region):  Annapolis County (Annapolis Royal, Middleton, Bridgetown, and surrounding areas)

• District #12 (Valley Region): Kings County (Kentville, Wolfville, Berwick, and surrounding areas)

• District #17 (Highlands Region): Antigonish County (Heatherton, Pomquet, St. Andrews, Antigonish, and surrounding areas)

• District #18 (Highlands Region): Guysborough County (Canso, Sherbrooke, Guysborough, and surrounding areas)

• District #19 (Cape Breton Region): Inverness County (Grand Étang, Whycocomagh, Mabou, Port Hood, Chéticamp, Inverness, and surrounding areas)

• District #20 (Cape Breton Region): Richmond County (West Arichat, Petit de Grat, Louisdale, St. Peter's, Arichat, and surrounding areas)

• District #21 (Cape Breton Region): Victoria County (Neil's Harbour, Ingonish, Baddeck, and surrounding areas)

• District #22 (Cape Breton Region): Cape Breton County (Louisbourg, Sydney Mines, New Waterford, North Sydney, Glace Bay, Sydney, and surrounding areas)

Mission Statement: 

CavUnity is a youth-led organization dedicated to engaging students in grades 7-12 and who are pursuing a post secondary undergraduate degree across Nova Scotia in meaningful volunteerism within their communities. Founded by youth, for youth, our mission is to inspire leadership, foster a sprit of service, and empower young people to make a positive impact through action driven initiatives. 

Through our events, fundraisers, programs, and workshops focused on our initiatives Care, Recreation, Hunger & Homelessness, Environment, and Mental Health, Addictions & Well-Being, we develop the leaders of tomorrow while addressing the needs of our communities. CavUnity values unity, inclusivity, diversity, equality, and service, creating opportunities for youth to grow, lead, and contribute in ways that strengthen both themselves and their communities. 

"By Youth, For Youth - Building a Better Tomorrow" is not just our slogan; it is the heart of everything we do - guiding our work, empowering our members, and shaping brighter futures for the communities we serve. 

Applications can be completed through the following methods:

1. Applications can be completed by scanning the QR code located on our posters at our recruitment booths/pop ups, or community spaces. 

2. Applications can be completed through the link in our bio on our social media pages (Instagram & Facebook). 

3. Apply via the embedded Google Form on our website by clicking here. 

4. Apply via email by emailing connect@cavunity.org  for a copy of the application to be sent to you. 

How to Apply: To apply you will have to choose a method to complete your application which are listed above.

Application Process: 

1. Complete and submit the application. You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been received to be reviewed by a member of our Registration & Recruitment team.

2. All applicants who apply for one of the remaining executive positions will be required to complete an interview. All General Member applicants will receive an email with next steps and on-boarding information. 

   • • Please note that all applicants will receive a position within CavUnity Volunteer Association whether general or executive. This will be determined following the review of your application (preference and what's available).

3. All applicants will receive confirmation of their position between June 30, 2026 - August 1, 2026 at the latest. 

Interview Process (Executive Positions Only):

1. Once your application is reviewed you will be contacted through email (the email provided in the submitted application) to schedule an interview. 

2. The interviews are meant to get to know you as the applicant and meet to talk with members of both the Executive Leadership Team and Executive team to discuss your role. During the interview you will be asked questions similar to the application and additionally questions regarding your position may be asked. 

3. Following your interview you will receive confirmation of your position, next steps, and on-boarding process information. 

Interviews will take place:

• Online via Google Meet (preferred method).

• In-person at a location of you convenience (if applicable).

During interview we will review the roles and responsibilities documents for your selected positions.  

Selection Process: Please see the break down of our selection process. This process is broken down from start (when your application is received) to finish (the final selection of all positions and roles). 

1. Applications received and reviewed. 

2. All applicants for executive positions will be interviewed. 

3. Interview evaluations will be reviewed. 

4. Selection of all applicants will take place. 

   • All applicants are selected for the best role based on their experience, skills and interview evaluation.
